October 23, 2015
It was a proud moment for the parents of the Redondo Union High School marching band last Saturday! The Seahawks’ marching band brought home first place honors in multiple categories at Newport Harbor Tournament which took place October 17, 2015! This was a first for the high school’s band which beat over 20 other competing schools. The Seahawks won first place in their division (4A) for band, percussion, and auxiliary, as well as sweepstakes awards for competition-wise excellence in six categories: music performance, music effect, visual performance, visual effect, percussion and tournament, the top overall performance award competition. It is rare for a single band to be recognized in so many categories, but the band’s hard work paid off and hopefully will throughout the rest of the year. The Newport Harbor Tournament competition was only the beginning of the season and they expect the competitions to really heat-up! We wish the Seahawks well with their upcoming tournament! Congratulations RUHS!
